Portfolio 26.04.2024

Fund performance was positive during Q1 2024 and the fund rose 4.77% in SEK due to a stronger EUR. The period was marked by strong macroeconomic data from the US and slightly weaker data for Europe.

The market’s outlook on the number and timing of upcoming rate cuts has been revised, which led to a slight upturn in interest rates. This had a negative impact on fund returns. Despite this, risk sentiment remained strong during the quarter with rising stock markets and narrowing credit spreads, which was positive for fund performance. Issuing activity was high, particularly in longer durations and within the portion of the bond market that has the higher rating, Investment Grade.

The strongest contributor was the fund’s credit exposure in variable interest rate bonds, i.e., floating-rate notes (FRN), which is issued by banks and has had the strongest performance given the interest rate movement during the quarter. Within the same theme, the duration exposure in the fund had the most negative impact.
